Creating Windows 2000 Setup Disks - By The Book:

Log onto your CD-ROM Drive.

Open the BOOTDISK Directory.

Doubleclick on MAKEBOOT.EXE and follow the instructions as referenced below.

This program creates the Setup boot disks
for Microsoft Windows 2000.
To create these disks, you need to provide 4 blank,
formatted, high-density disks.

Please specify the floppy drive to copy the images to: (Usually Floppy Drive A:\ )

IF you require further assistance, Use Win2000 Help: Search - starting computers, boot disks.

images/bullet2.gifRequired: (4) floppies. Start, Run -
d:\bootdisk\makeboot a: (where d: is the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive), and then click OK.

 

images/bullet2.gifNote: You cannot use the Windows Emergancy Repair disk (ERD) to help resolve the following problems:

  1. Incorrect or damaged device drivers that are installed in the Windows System folder.
  2. Boot problems that occur after you see the Windows Startup (Osloader) screen.
  3. To work around or fix these problems, run the ERD, load the last known good control set, or reinstall Windows, if necessary.
